Julia
Wakeham - Katya
Originally from South Africa, Julia moved to Dublin after graduating from
the University of Cape Town with a BA degree in Film, Media and Visual
Studies. While living in Cape Town, she played the female lead in two
short films, Mladen Kovacevic’s abstract Shuffle and Nicole
Schafer’s High Life. While in Dublin, she has been studying
with Vinny Murphy at the Screen Studio. In 2006, Julia studied for two
months at the Margie Haber Studios in West Hollywood, following in the
steps of Pierce Brosnan and Gabriel Byrne.
Julia makes her feature film debut in WC. In the film she plays
the female lead, a Russian girl called Katya. WC received its world
premiere at the 2007 Dublin international film festival. Following her
